How does the new "Team Scores" widget differ from the old "Today View" widget?
In iOS 14, Apple reimagined how widgets look and function. In comparison to our old "Today View" widget, new widgets are no longer “mini-apps” with interactive components, such as tabs, feeds and scroll areas. They are now customizable, focused on a singular idea optimized for glanceability, come in a variety of sizes, and can be placed anywhere on your Home Screen.

Can I follow multiple teams in the "Team Scores" widget?
Given the limited real estate in the small and medium widget sizes, we only display scores for the team that you have configured in the widget. However, you can add multiple instances from the widget gallery and follow a different team in each one.
If you're following many teams and would like to save space on your Home Screen, simply touch and hold a widget or an empty area until the apps jiggle. Then, drag a "Team Scores" widget (of the same size) on top of another to create a Smart Stack. Now, you can simply swipe up or down to cycle through each widget and change which team you are seeing scores for!

Why doesn’t the "Team Scores" widget update more in real time?
With the release of iOS 14, widgets must adhere to Apple’s guidelines with regards to update frequency and quota limits. This means that no widget can update in real time. That being said, the "Team Scores" widget should update approximately every 5 minutes when a game is live. If you prefer to track the game in real time, simply tap on the "Team Scores" widget and we will bring you directly to the matchup page in theScore app!
